Cakes by Cathy Stewart specializes in custom wedding cakes, wedding cupcakes and groom’s cakes. Her focus is weddings but will make other cakes during slower seasons.
Cathy has over 30 years of experience pleasing brides. She is known for creating beautiful and tasty confections. Cathy is committed to designing and creating your individual cake using your ideas and inspirations. She offers many flavor options and is known for her signature cream cheese and butter frosting. Most of her wedding cakes are frosted smooth to resemble fondant but are not covered in fondant. Fondant covered cakes are also offered.
Cathy is a member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Society). She continues attending classes to hone new techniques and designs.
Cathy’s journey as a baker started very early in life with her Easy Bake Oven. Her first adventure of a decorated cake was when she was 10, it was an angel food cake, frosted pink with plastic daisies in the center. In the eighth grade Cathy decided to get serious and ordered a cake decorating kit from the Sears and Roebuck catalog. In 1986, Cathy’s Cakery was opened in Claremore Oklahoma this was a dream come true to have a storefront. The Cakery was sold after a couple years due to her family relocating. Since that time Cathy has had cake businesses in Tulsa, Oklahoma are and Hartwell, Georgia and now Virginia. Many opportunities have come her way and she is so grateful to share her talents, creating sweet confections for your wedding day.
